Best practices before installing the software

Installing on Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) and preventing deployments on unsupported operating systems ensure the smooth functioning of Trellix FRP.

  • Install Trellix FRP on a VDI environment. For the latest information on support for VDI environments, including installation details and applicable constraints, see KB81478.

  • Prevent deployment to non-supported client operating systems. You can use ePO - On-prem to prevent deployments to unsupported operating systems such as Windows XP 64-bit and Windows Vista 64-bit. ePO - On-prem and Trellix Agent ensure that the Trellix FRP client runs only on endpoints with supported operating systems.

  • Files in One Drive and One Drive for Business folders on the Windows 10 1709 version or higher, Trellix FRP client gets decrypted when the decryption policy is enforced.

    • Make sure to have enough space in disk as files get downloaded after the policy enforcement.

    • Until all files in these folders are decrypted, ensure all files are not being edited and accessed from another Trellix FRP client.
