Create and download the Trellix Agent installation package

The Trellix Agent extension must be installed on the ePO - On-prem server before the agent is installed on any target systems.

We recommend that you refer to the ePO - On-prem documentation to verify that you are using the most current package and extension.

Before you begin

Make sure that you have created a temporary folder on the ePO - On-prem system, to save the files required for offline activation.
You must have administrator rights to perform this task.

Task

Download the agent extension, ePOAgentMeta.zip, and the agent package, MAxxxWin.zip, to the system containing the ePO - On-prem server from Trellix download center.
Install the agent extension.
1. Click Menu | Software | Extensions, then click Install Extensions.
2. Browse to the location containing ePOAgentMeta.zip, select it and click OK. The Install Extensions summary page appears.
3. Click OK to complete the installation of the extension.
Check in the agent package to one of the repository branches, Current (default), Previous, or Evaluation.
Create an installation package:
1. Click Menu | Systems | System Tree, click System Tree Actions, then select New Systems from the drop-down menu.
2. Select Create and download agent installation package.
3. Select the Agent version for Windows.
4. Deselect Embed Credentials in Package.

  If deselected, you receive the default package. If selected, you can specify required credentials.
5. Click OK. The Download file dialog box opens.
6. Select FramePkg.exe and save it to the temporary folder.
