Install Trellix FRP from the command line

You can use command-line instruction to manually install Trellix FRP, either locally or with a third-party deployment tool on Windows and Mac systems.

You must install a supported version of Trellix Agent before using the command-line method. For more information about supported versions, see KB81149.

  1. On Windows systems, install Trellix FRP from the command line using one of these commands:

    • Use this command to install on a 32-bit system: msiexec.exe /q /i eeff32.msi

    • Use this command to install on a 64-bit system: msiexec.exe /q /i eeff64.msi

  2. On Mac systems, install Trellix FRP from the command line using one of these commands:

    • For Trellix FRP 5.1.0 and later, run these commands:

    1. unzip -d MfeFRP_Client_OSX_5.x.x.xxx.zip

    2. sudo installer -pkg MfeFRP_Client_OSX_5.x.x.xxx/FRP.pkg -target LocalSystem

    • For Trellix FRP 5.0.10 and earlier, run these commands:

    1. unzip -d MfeFRP_Client_OSX_5.x.x.xxx.zip

    2. tar -C MfeFRP_Client_OSX_5.x.x.xxx -xjf MfeFRP_Client_OSX_5.x.x.xxx/FRP.tar.bz2

    3. sudo installer -pkg MfeFRP_Client_OSX_5.x.x.xxx/FRP.pkg -target LocalSystem

  3. Restart the client to complete the installation procedure.
