This chapter describes the process of installing, and upgrading the Drive Encryption software.
Important
Before installing Drive Encryption 8.1.1, you must ensure that the Secure Boot database is updated with the Microsoft UEFI CA 2023 and Microsoft Option ROM UEFI CA 2023 on all Windows 10 and later systems. Failure to update these certificates prior to install will result in installation failure. For more information, see article 000015304.
This release supports upgrading Drive Encryption 7.2.x, Drive Encryption 7.3.x and Drive Encryption 7.4.x systems to Drive Encryption 8.x or later. For more information about upgrading systems to Drive Encryption 8.x or later, see the upgrade section of this document.
The Drive Encryption extensions and software packages must be installed and checked in to the ePO - On-prem server before you can deploy the software to the clients and configure the policies.
Note
Make sure that you remove any competitor's encryption products from your system. Do not install any other encryption products after installing Trellix Drive Encryption.
