Although ePO - On-prem has all the required features for removing the product from the client system, you can also manually uninstall it.

Before you begin

  • You must have administrator rights to perform this task.

  • Deactivate the Drive Encryption client.

  • Verify that the client system is in Inactive state before initiating the manual removal process.

Task

  1. On the client system, type Registry Editor on the Windows search bar. The editor appears on the screen.

  2. Browse to these registry values and double-click the Uninstall Command. The Edit String dialog box appears.

    • For DE Agent on 32-bit system: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Network Associates\ePolicy Orchestrator\Application Plugins\DE______8000.

    • For DE Agent on 64-bit system: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Network Associates\ePolicy Orchestrator\Application Plugins\DE______8000.

  3. Copy the Value data from the Edit String dialog box, paste and run it on the command prompt.

You can retain the /q command from the Value data to run a silent removal and to avoid restarting the system after uninstalling the Drive Encryption product. If /q command is removed, the uninstallation progress report appears on the screen.

Drive Encryption is successfully removed from the client system.
