Trellix File and Removable Media Protection 5.4.3 release addresses known issues, product, scanner, and installer stability issue. It also addresses product rebranding changes.

This release includes all features and fixes from the previous release. We recommend that you always upgrade to the most current update.

Release details

Note

This update requires MsgBus Cert updater 5.7.7.406 or later to be installed on the Windows and Mac clients before installing or upgrading Trellix FRP.

Note

All subsequent versions following the FRP 5.4.3 release shall support only Windows 10 and above for client systems and Windows server 2016 and above for server systems. See supported KB81149 for more details.

As part of rebranding, the certificates used to sign our software have been updated. If your enterprise automatically updates root certificates, the software update/installation does not require any additional effort. However, if your enterprise manages root certificate updates manually, you need to install the new intermediate and root certificates.

This update is recommended for all environments. Apply this update at the earliest convenience.

Trellix FRP 5.4.3 release supports: Trellix ePolicy Orchestrator - On-premises — 5.10.x.

Upgrade support

Trellix FRP 5.4.3 supports Microsoft Windows 10 22H2.

New features and changes

This is solely for informational purpose, there is no action required. You can continue to secure your organization with Trellix File and Removable Media Protection as usual.

You will notice the following changes in the software:

  • Product Name — McAfee File and Removable Media Protection is renamed to Trellix File and Removable Media Protection.

  • Brand logo — The McAfee logo is replaced with Trellix logo.

  • User interface — Color and typeface are updated and provide better user experience.

  • End-User Licence Agreement and Copyright — The End User Licence Agreement and Copyright are updated as per legal requirements. Please read the agreement for details.
