# Configure deferred scan using command line interface

You can enable or disable deferred scans using these commands.

1. To enable deferred scan, run:

`/opt/McAfee/ens/tp/bin/mfetpcli --setdeferredscan enable`
2. To disable deferred scan, run:

`/opt/McAfee/ens/tp/bin/mfetpcli --setdeferredscan disable`

> Note
> 
> You can view updated status of deferred scan only after restating the service.
3. To view the status of deferred scan, run:

`/opt/McAfee/ens/tp/bin/mfetpcli --getdeferredscan`
