ePO - On-prem 5.10.0 Service pack 1 Update 6 Hotfix Release

Release summary

This hotfix resolves a certificate handling issue in ePO On-Prem 5.10.0 Service pack 1 Update 6 that causes the TrellixHttp source site connection to fail as the bundled certificate expires.

Important

This hotfix applies exclusively to ePO On-Prem 5.10.0 Service pack 1 Update 6.

The bundled certificate for the TrellixHttp source site is scheduled to expire on October 1st, 2026. However, Trellix may renew the certificate earlier than this date. All customers currently on Update 6 must apply this hotfix, regardless of the certificate's current expiration status. Apply this hotfix as soon as possible to avoid an interruption to TrellixHttp source site connectivity.

After you apply this hotfix, the certificate update does not take effect immediately. ePO deletes the existing certificate and installs the updated certificate the next time the Update Main Repository Server task runs at its scheduled time. To restore HTTPS connectivity sooner, run this task manually after installing the hotfix.

If you are unable to apply this hotfix before the certificate is renewed, you can still apply it afterward to restore HTTPS content updates.

What's new

Automatic certificate management for the Trellix source site: ePO now automatically downloads and links the certificate for the default TrellixHttp source site update.nai.com using the Root Certificate Authority (CA), eliminating the need for manual certificate management and ensuring secure HTTPS communication. ePO deletes the existing certificate and installs the updated certificate when the Update Main Repository Server task next runs at its scheduled time. For more details, see KB15741.
