Installing Trellix Agent 5.8.x on a persistent virtual image

Prev Next

Trellix Agent Globally Unique Identifier (GUID) is a random value used by ePO - On-prem and is generated when Trellix Agent 5.8.x is installed on a managed system. Installing Trellix Agent on an image without removing the GUID and deploying it on more than one system results in duplication of the GUID.

You can install Trellix Agent 5.8.x on a persistent virtual image by running the following command on the primary system image where Trellix Agent is installed to deploy on client systems. This avoids duplication of the GUID.

maconfig -enforce -noguid
maconfigCmd -enforce -noguid (for Trellix Agent 5.8.1 and above versions)

Important

  • Restart the Trellix Agent service on your system after running this command to generate a unique GUID.

  • To view console logs, use maconfigCmd.exe instead of maconfig.exe for Trellix Agent version 5.8.1 and above.
