Limit the number of concurrent searches

You can set a limit for the number of concurrent searches that can be running at a time. The default is five concurrent searches. When the configured limit is reached, errors occur.

You can review and modify the concurrent search limit using the CLI.

Prerequisites
  • Admin access

Review the concurrent search limit

To review the concurrent search limit:
  1. Enable CLI configuration mode:

    hostname > enable
    hostname # configure terminal
  2. Review the issue limit:

    hostname (config) # show hx server search

    The output from this command might look like this:

    HX Enterprise Security Search Configurations:
    
    Concurrent search limit:    5
    Existing search limit:      10
    Search issues item limit:   10

Change the concurrent search limit

To change the concurrent search limit:
  1. Enable CLI configuration mode:

    hostname > enable
    hostname # configure terminal
  2. Change the concurrent search limit:

    hostname (config) # hx server search concurrent-search-limit <number>

    where <number> is the number of concurrent Enterprise Searches that can be running. Valid values range from 0 through 15. The default is 5.

  3. Save your settings.

    hostname (config) # write mem

Revert to the concurrent search limit default of five unique issues

To revert to the concurrent search limit default of 5 unique issues:
  1. Enable CLI configuration mode:

    hostname > enable
    hostname # configure terminal
  2. Revert to the issue limit default:

    hostname (config) # no hx server search concurrent-search-limit
  3. Save your settings.

    hostname (config) # write mem
