Modifying the host description in the containment allow list using the CLI

You can change the host description by entering a new description for an existing host listed in the allow list.

To modify the host description in the containment allow list:
hostname (config) # hx server containment whitelist <IPorHostname> description <description>
  1. Enable the CLI configuration mode:

    hostname > enable
    hostname # configure terminal
  2. Modify the host description. Enclose descriptions that are longer than one word in quotation marks (").

  3. Save your settings.

    hostname (config) # write mem

Note

To list the hosts currently on the allow list, enter this command:

hostname (config) # show hx server containment

Examples

The following example changes a host description in the containment allow list to a single word:

hostname (config) # hx server containment whitelist testserverhost description testserver
                  

The following example changes a host description in the containment whitelist to a string of words:

hostname (config) # hx server containment whitelist 123.45.6.7 description “The Group A Test Appliance”
