Prev Next

Trellix Threat Intelligence Exchange (TIE) 4.0.0 release includes improvements, product rebranding changes, and resolved issues.

This release includes all features and fixes from the previous release. We recommend that you always upgrade to the most current update.

Release details

For release dates and build numbers, see   TIE product release information section in   KB83368.

Note

TIE doesn't support the   TIE Server upgrade using Trellix ePO - On-prem. The   TIE Server in-place upgrade from version 3.0.3 or earlier to 4.0.0 is not supported on the same appliance. In this case, you can only upgrade the   TIE Server by setting up a new server using an ISO file or OVA component. However,   TIE 4.0.0 or later supports in-place upgrade to upgrade the   TIE server on the same appliance

New features and changes

  • Rebranding changes — As   Trellix continues to evolve, you will begin to see our solutions reflect our new name and brand. In this release, you will notice the following changes in the software. This rebranding change requires an effort from your end if your enterprise manages root certificate updates manually.

    • Product Name — McAfee Threat Intelligence Exchange is renamed as   Trellix Threat Intelligence Exchange (TIE).

    • Brand logo and name — McAfee logo and name are replaced with   Trellix logo and name.

    • End User License Agreement and Copyright — The End User License Agreement and Copyright are updated as per legal requirements. Read the agreement for details.

As part of rebranding, the certificates used to sign our software have been updated. If your enterprise automatically updates root certificates, the software update/installation does not require any additional effort. However, if your enterprise manages root certificate updates manually, you need to install the new intermediate and root certificates.

For information about downloading and installing the certificates, see   KB91697

  • TIE Server 4.0.0 consists of MLOS3 — In this release, the   TIE server package consists of McAfee Linux Operating System 3 (MLOS3) and it has the vulnerability fixes. So,   Trellix recommends you to upgrade the   TIE Server to the latest version 4.0.0. For details about upgrading, see   Upgrade to a new software version.

    Note

The older 3.x TIE Server must be maintained as a Secondary   TIE Server if   Active Response Server runs on it.   TIE Server 4.0.0 alone does not support   Active Response integration.
