Uninstall the software from an unmanaged system

You can uninstall the software on a Linux platform.

  1. Log on to a terminal as root super user (administrator rights).

  2. Switch to Disabled mode.

    sadmin disable

  3. Restart the endpoint to completely disable the Solidcore client.

  4. As root super user, go to /usr/local/mcafee/solidcore and run the ./uninstall script.

  5. Verify that the software is removed from the system.

    • On RHEL, CentOS, SUSE and Oracle systems, run:

      rpm -qa | grep solidcoreS3

      Note

      Make sure the SELinux package and SELinux policy module are removed on RHEL 8 and RHEL 9 endpoints.

      On RHEL 8 and RHEL 9 endpoints, run rpm -qa | grep solidcoreS3 to remove the SELinux package.

      On RHEL 8 and RHEL 9 endpoints, run semodule -l | grep solidcore to remove the SELinux policy module.

    • On Ubuntu systems, run:

      dpkg -l | grep solidcores3

If the software was uninstalled successfully, these commands don't show any results.
