# Upgrade software using repositories (YUM, zypper, or apt-get)

Upgrade the software using the YUM, zypper, or apt-get repositories.

Before you upgrade, see the Trellix ENS for Linux upgrade scenarios table in the supported upgrade scenario section.

1. Copy all rpm or *deb* files to the repository.
2. Perform these tasks on the nodes:
  1. Stop all Threat Prevention and Firewall services.

For 10.6.5 and earlier

`/opt/McAfee/mfw/bin/mfefirewallControl.sh stop`

`/opt/isec/ens/threatprevention/bin/isectpdControl.sh stop`

`/opt/isec/ens/esp/bin/isecespdControl.sh stop`

For 10.6.6 and later

`/opt/McAfee/ens/fw/init/mfefwd-control.sh stop`

`/opt/McAfee/ens/tp/init/mfetpd-control.sh stop`

`/opt/McAfee/ens/esp/init/mfeespd-control.sh stop`
  2. Run the upgrade command:

YUM repository:`yum install McAfeeTP McAfeeFW`

zypper: `zypper install McAfeeTP McAfeeFW`

apt-get: `apt-get install mcafeetp mcafeefw`
  3. Start all Threat Prevention and Firewall services.

`/opt/McAfee/ens/esp/init/mfeespd-control.sh start`

`/opt/McAfee/ens/tp/init/mfetpd-control.sh start`

`/opt/McAfee/ens/fw/init/mfefwd-control.sh start`
