Upgrade software using repositories (YUM, zypper, or apt-get)

Upgrade the software using the YUM, zypper, or apt-get repositories.

Before you upgrade, see the Trellix ENS for Linux upgrade scenarios table in the supported upgrade scenario section.

  1. Copy all rpm or deb files to the repository.

  2. Perform these tasks on the nodes:

    1. Stop all Threat Prevention and Firewall services.

      For 10.6.5 and earlier

      /opt/McAfee/mfw/bin/mfefirewallControl.sh stop

      /opt/isec/ens/threatprevention/bin/isectpdControl.sh stop

      /opt/isec/ens/esp/bin/isecespdControl.sh stop

      For 10.6.6 and later

      /opt/McAfee/ens/fw/init/mfefwd-control.sh stop

      /opt/McAfee/ens/tp/init/mfetpd-control.sh stop

      /opt/McAfee/ens/esp/init/mfeespd-control.sh stop

    2. Run the upgrade command:

      YUM repository:yum install McAfeeTP McAfeeFW

      zypper: zypper install McAfeeTP McAfeeFW

      apt-get: apt-get install mcafeetp mcafeefw

    3. Start all Threat Prevention and Firewall services.

      /opt/McAfee/ens/esp/init/mfeespd-control.sh start

      /opt/McAfee/ens/tp/init/mfetpd-control.sh start

      /opt/McAfee/ens/fw/init/mfefwd-control.sh start
