Accessing vIPS Components using SSH

Prerequisite:

Make sure you have the SSH key file saved in the virtual machine from where you are accessing the External Controller shell.

Steps:

  1. Access the virtual machine deployed in your cloud environment using Remote Desktop.

  2. Open the SSH client.

    Note

    Trellix recommends you use the Xshell application as your SSH client.

  3. Accessing vIPS Components using the following commands:

    • For a Manager/Internal Controller, ssh -i <File_path_for_the_ssh_key> admin@<Manager_IP_Address>

      Note

      The Local Controller shell resides in the Linux-based Manager. Use SSH to access the Manager shell to run the Controller shell commands.

    • For an External Controller, ssh -i <File_path_for_the_ssh_key> admin@<External_Controller_IP_Address>

    • For a Sensor, ssh -i <File_path_for_the_ssh_key> admin@<Sensor_IP_Address>
