If you deleted a Sensor from the Manager and want to re-add it, you must reset the shared key value on the Sensor to re-establish secure communication between the Sensor and Manager.
Task
- Connect a terminal to the Sensor Console port. (For instructions on connecting to the Console port, see the corresponding Trellix Intrusion Prevention System Sensor Product Guide.)
- At the login prompt, log on to the Sensor.
- Clear the certificates used for communication with the Sensor. At the prompt, type deinstall.

show to see the current configuration information for the Sensor.
Modify it as needed.

Re-enter the shared key information for the Sensor.
At the command prompt, type set sensor sharedsecretkey <WORD>.
This value is used to establish a trust relationship between the Sensor and the Manager. The secret key value can consist of up to 25 characters of any ASCII text. The shared key value is case-sensitive.
Example: set sensor sharedsecretkey IPSkey123. - To exit the session, type exit.
- Re-add the Sensor to the Manager as described in Adding a Sensor to the Manager.
