Adding or removing a comment using the CLI

Use the commands in this section to add or remove a comment for an HA pair.

To add a comment:
  1. Log in to the Central Management System CLI.

  2. Enable the CLI configuration mode:

    hostname > enable
    hostname # configure terminal
  3. Add the comment:

    hostname (config) # cmc ha nx <pair> comment <"comment">

    where <pair> is the name of the HA pair, and <"comment"> is the description (enclosed in double quotation marks).

  4. Save your change:

    hostname (config) # write memory
To remove a comment:
  1. Log in to the Central Management System CLI.

  2. Enable the CLI configuration mode:

    hostname > enable
    hostname # configure terminal
    hostname (config) #
  3. Remove the comment:

    hostname (config) # cmc ha nx <pair> comment ""

    where <pair> is the name of the HA pair, and the double quotation marks indicate an empty string.

Examples

The following example adds "Western region NX pair" as a comment that describes the Acme_NXHA pair.

hostname (config) # cmc ha nx Acme_NXHA comment "Western region NX pair"
hostname (config) # show cmc ha nx Acme_NXHA
NX-HA Acme_NXHA nx-1 nx-2        Status: OK
    Comment:                            Western region NX pair
    Connected:                          yes
    ...

The following example removes the comment by replacing it with an empty string.

hostname (config) # cmc ha nx Acme_NXHA comment ""
hostname (config) # show cmc ha nx Acme_NXHA
NX-HA Acme_NXHA nx-1 nx-2        Status: OK
    Comment:
    Connected:                   yes
    ...
