Configure NDR

To configure the connection between your NDR and Packet Capture appliance, perform this procedure on your NDR Series appliance. After this procedure is complete, you will see the Packet Capture appliance's IP address at the top of the Metadata menu.

To configure the NDR to communicate with the Packet Capture:

Log in to the NDR as npadmin using the NDR IP address or FQDN. For example:
$ ssh npadmin@10.1.0.1
or
$ ssh npadmin@exampleFQDN
Enter privileged mode:
npadmin@ia> enable
Enter the npadmin password. The password can be 5 to 24 characters long.
[sudo] password for npadmin: <password>
Enter configuration mode:
npadmin@ia# configure system
Enter the metadata menu:
hostname(config) # metadata
You will see the followng:
Metadata Sync: Off
Connected PXes:
T) Toggle metadata import on/off
A) Add PX
#) Remove PX
K) Retransfer ACM Key
G) Regenerate and transfer SSH Keys
H) Re-sync Network Config with PX
Q) Quit
Select A to add your PX appliance.
Please enter selection: A
Enter the following information to connect your PX appliance:
1. Enter the PX appliance IP address or FQDN:
  Enter the PX address:10.1.0.1
  Note
  When using FQDNs for any configuration setting, you must first configure a valid DNS server. See Network Configuration for more details.
2. Enter yes to confirm this connection with the PX appliance:
  Are your sure you want to continue connecting (yes/no)? yes
  Note
  You will see this questions, only if this is the first time a connection is established with this PX appliance.
3. Enter the npadmin login credentials for your PX appliance:
  Enter the 10.1.0.1 user(npadmin):
  Enter password for npadmin:
  Note
  The admin account must have SUDO and API access.
4. Customize the PX appliance source directory:
  Customize source directory on PX(data):
  Note
  You can customize the PX appliance source directory or keep the source directory set to data.
5. Select A to add another PX appliance or Q to quit
