Configuring automatic failover using the CLI

Prev Next

Use the commands in this section to configure whether the cluster should automatically fail over to the secondary node if a failover condition occurs. This setting does not have to be the same on both nodes. (See Automatic failover for information about this configuration option.)

Note

This is a local configuration. The configuration actions are performed from each node, and are applied to only that node.

To disable automatic failover:

  1. Log in to the node.

  2. Enable the CLI configuration mode:

    node-hostname > enable
    node-hostname # configure terminal
  3. Disable automatic failover:

node-hostname (config) # no ha node failover auto
  4. Verify your change:

    node-hostname (config) # show configuration
  5. Save your change:

    node-hostname (config) # write memory

To enable automatic failover:

  1. Log in to the node.

  2. Enable the CLI configuration mode:

    node-hostname > enable
    node-hostname # configure terminal
  3. Enable automatic failover:

node-hostname (config) # ha node failover auto
  4. Verify your change:

node-hostname (config) # show ha configuration
  5. Save your change:

    node-hostname (config) # write memory

Example

The following example disables automatic failover on node2.

node2 (config) # no ha node failover auto
node2 (config) # show ha configuration
