Configuring SNMP default settings using the CLI

Follow these steps to configure the default SNMP settings:

Prerequisites

  • Admin or Operator access to the Malware Analysis appliance.

To set the default SNMP configuration:
  1. Enable the CLI configuration mode:

    hostname > enable
    hostname # configure terminal
  2. Specify the SNMP version used for notifications:

    • To use SNMP version 1, enter:

      hostname (config) # fenotify snmp trap-sink <sink name> version 1
    • To use SNMP version 2c, enter:

      hostname (config) # fenotify snmp trap-sink <sink name> version 2c
  3. Specify the delivery frequency for SNMP notifications:

    Note

    Trellix recommends using per-event notifications.

    For example, send a notification whenever an event is triggered, enter:

    hostname (config) # fenotify snmp trap-sink <sink name> prefer message delivery per-event
  4. Save the configuration:

    hostname (config) # write memory
