Connect the cable for Sensor failover

Prev Next

For Sensor failover, connect two NS7600 Sensors using the standard LC-LC cables. These two Sensors must be running the same software version.

You need to purchase the required number of 10G SFP+ transceivers and cables as listed in the table below before you configure an HA pair. These cables are additional hardware required to support failover communication between two NS7600 Sensors.

Note

Trellix does not ship the transceiver modules and cables with the NS7600 Sensors. You need to purchase the same separately for the failover setup.

Sensor Model

Ports to connect the HA pair

Transceiver and cable requirements for failover

NS7600

G0/1 with 5Gbps license capacity

2 10G SFP+ and 1 standard LC-LC cable

G0/1 and G0/2 with 10Gbps and 15Gbps license capacity

4 10G SFP+ and 2 standard LC-LC cables

G1/1 with 20Gbps license capacity

2 25G SFP28 and 1 standard LC-LC

  1. For port G0/1 with 5Gbps license: Plug the cable appropriate for use with your SFP+ module into port G0/1 of the active NS7600 Sensor. Connect the other end of the cable with SFP+ into port G0/1 of the standby NS7600 Sensor.

  2. For ports G0/1 and G0/2 with 10 Gbps and 15Gbps license: Plug the cable appropriate for use with your SFP+ modules into ports G0/1 and G0/2 of the active NS7600 Sensor. Connect the other end of the cable with SFP+ into ports G0/1 and G0/2 of the standby NS7600 Sensor.

  3. For port G1/1 with 20Gbps license: Plug the cable appropriate for use with your SFP28 module into port G1/1 of the active NS7600 Sensor. Connect the other end of the cable with SFP28 into port G1/1 of the standby NS7600 Sensor.

    Note

To use the G1/1 port with an SFP28 module at 25 Gbps, install the 8-port SFP28/SFP+/SFP 25/10/1 Gbps network interface module in the G1 slot. For more information, see 8-port SFP28/SFP+/SFP 25/10/1 Gigabit interface module.
