Create a new edge

After you create an edge, you can assign it to an integrated product or a workflow. This means that when you run a workflow, individual actions or the whole workflow can run on the edge you assigned to that integrated product.

To create a new edge:

  1. From the Main Menu Helix_MegaMenu.png, navigate to Integration Hub > View Hyperautomation Edges. You are redirected to the Trellix Hyperautomation UI.

  2. Click Create.

  3. On the Info tab, enter the following information:

    1. A name for the edge.

    2. (Optional) A description of what the edge is for.

  4. Click Next.

  5. On the Infrastructure tab:

    1. Use the default On Premise option.

    2. Enter the number of edges you want to create.

    3. Choose where to store the key-value data. If you select SQL Database, enter the following information:

      1. Use the default PostgreSQL database type.

      2. The host address in the format host:port.

      3. A username.

      4. A password.

      5. A name for the database.

      6. A timeout value in seconds.

    4. Choose where to store files. If you select MinIO (S3 Compatible), enter the following information:

      1. The address of the MinIO endpoint.

      2. The access key.

      3. The secret key.

      4. The name of the bucket.

      5. The region.

    5. Choose where to store the secrets data. If you select SQL Database, enter the following information:

      1. Use the default PostgreSQL database type.

      2. The host address in the format host:port.

      3. A username.

      4. A password.

      5. A name for the database.

      6. A timeout value in seconds.

  6. Click Next.

  7. On the Proxy tab, if you want enable proxy turn on the Enable Proxy toggle and enter the following information:

    1. The HTTP address of the proxy.

    2. The HTTPS address of the proxy.

    3. A comma-separated list of hosts that should not use proxy.

  8. Click Next.

  9. On the Review tab, check the information is correct and either make any required changes or click Submit.

  10. On the Setup tab, download the docker compose file. Do not close the Setup tab.

  11. To deploy the edge, open a terminal and run the following command:

    docker compose -f docker-compose-edge-<edge name>-hal.yml up -d
  12. To check the edge is running, in the terminal use the following command:

    docker ps | grep zs-edge-worker
  13. Confirm the edge is running in the Trellix Hyperautomation UI. On the Setup tab, click Check Status. When the status is Online, click Close.
