Create an auto scaling group for Virtual IPS Sensors in AWS

Prev Next

The AWS deployment to auto scale Virtual IPS Sensors is created under the Auto Scaling Groups option in the AWS interface. A new Virtual IPS Sensor instance is launched in AWS based on the alarms configured under the auto scaling policy. You have to first define the launch configuration before creating an auto scaling groups. All Sensor instances launched in an auto scaling group will have the same configuration since it is based on the launch configuration defined for the group. You can launch an auto scaling group for Sensors with or without an AWS Elastic Load Balancer. You can also configure an auto scaling group by defining the required parameters through scripts. For more information on auto scaling groups, see Auto Scaling groups in AWS documentation.

In the Trellix IPS Manager, it is recommended to create a new Cluster for auto scaling Sensors. You cannot convert an existing cluster to auto scaling Sensors.
