Create an Azure image from a Virtual Hard Disk (VHD) file

The vIPS solution is deployed in the Azure portal using the software images of the vIPS components. This section details the procedure to create vIPS components image in the Azure portal.

Prerequisites:

  • You must have the VHD files of all the vIPS components provided by Trellix copied into your Azure subscription.   • You must have the filepath for the vIPS components storage blob.

To create an Azure image from a VHD file, perform the following steps:

  1. Click All services. Under Compute section, click Images.

    The Images blade opens.

  2. Click + Add.

    The Create an image blade opens.

  3. In the Create an image blade, configure the following:

    Option

    Definition

    Name

    Type a name for the vIPS component image.

    Subscription

    The subscription linked with your Azure account is selected by default. If you have multiple subscription accounts, select the subscription account in which you would like to launch the vIPS component.

    Resource group

    • Create new - You can create a new resource group to be protected

    • Use existing - Select a resource group from the existing resource groups to be protected.

    Location

    Select the region where the vIPS component image must be created.

    OS disk type

    Select Linux for the vIPS component images.

    Storage blob

    Click Browse and navigate to the VHD location and select the appropriate file.

    Storage type

    Select the Premium SSD storage type.

  4. Click Create.

    An Azure image of the vIPS component is created successfully.

  5. Repeat steps 1-4 for Manager, Controller, and Virtual IPS Sensor separately.
