Deployment of Trellix IPS Manager

To deploy an IPS Manager in AWS, perform the following steps:

Task

  1. Login to the AWS console, and navigate to Services → Compute → EC2.
  2. In the left panel, under IMAGES, click AMIs.
  3. Search for the AMI Name of the Manager (Trellix_vIPS_Manager_10.1.7.x) and click Launch.

    Note

    Consider the latest version of the Manager.

    Note

    For ease of search you can filter the images using the 519405898872 Owner ID.

  4. In the Choose an Instance type step, select the instance type as m4.xlarge or c4.xlarge, and click Next: Configure Instance Details.
  5. In the Configure Instance Details step, from the Network drop-down list, select the VPC where the Manager has to be deployed. Select the Management subnet from the Subnet drop-down list.
  6. Configure the IAM role associated with the instance and click Next: Add Storage.
  7. By default, the storage is 150 GiB for Size (GiB) in Add Storage. Click Next: Add Tags.
  8. Define a tag for your Manager instance, and click Next: Configure Security Group.
  9. In the Configure Security Group step, you can create a new Security Group or choose an existing Security Group and click Next: Review Instance Launch
  10. In the Review Instance Launch step, review the details provided for deploying the instance. Edit any details if required, and then click Launch to assign a key pair to the Manager instance.
  11. In the Select an existing key pair or create a new key pair pop up, you can either choose an existing key pair or create a new key pair, and then click Launch Instances.

    The Manager virtual machine is deployed.

    Note

    The installation procedure requires 10 minutes for configurational settings. Therefore, the Manager is accessible only after the downtime.

  12. (Optional) You can configure the cloud access details for the local controller once the Manage instance is running.
