A vIPS Probe has to be installed on every instance that has to be protected by Trellix vIPS. In order to install a vIPS Probe, you will have to first download the Probe Installation Package from the Manager.
Note
Installing the vIPS Probe does not ensure security. A channel has to be established with the Sensor for the Probe to redirect traffic.
Note
vIPS Probe supports only Python 2.7.
Follow the steps given below to download the Probe Installation Package.

In the Manager, go to
Devices → <Admin Domain Name> → Global → Device Manager.
The Device Manager page is displayed.
- Select the vIPS Clusters tab.

Click
View VMs. The Virtual Machines page opens.

To download the
vIPS Probe for a Linux system, select
Virtual Probe Installer → Linux.
The Probe Installation Package with the file name vIPS_Probe_Linux.tar.gz will be downloaded onto your machine.

To download the
vIPS Probe for a Windows system, select
Virtual Probe Installer → Windows.
The Probe Installation Package with the file name vIPS_Probe_Windows.zip will be downloaded onto your machine.

vIPS Probe for a Linux system, select
Virtual Probe Installer → Linux.
