Enabling and Disabling Interface Loopback Using the CLI

Use the Network Security appliance CLI to enable and disable interface loopback for one or all port pair interfaces.

Prerequisites

  • Admin or Operator access to the Network Security appliance.

To enable the interface loopback troubleshooting functionality:
  1. Log in to the appliance CLI and go to configuration mode:

    hostname > enable
    hostname # configure terminal
  2. Enable interface loopback for a specific interface:

    hostname (config) # fedp loopback interface <InterfaceName> enable

    where InterfaceName is the name of the pair port interface.

    To enable interface loopback for all interfaces:

    hostname (config) # fedp loopback interface ALL enable
  3. Confirm your change:

    hostname (config) # show fedp loopback status
To disable the interface loopback troubleshooting functionality:
  1. Log in to the appliance CLI and go to configuration mode:

    hostname > enable
    hostname # configure terminal
  2. Disable the interface loopback for a specific interface:

    hostname (config) # no fedp loopback interface <InterfaceName> enable

    where InterfaceName is the name of the pair port interface.

    To disable interface loopback for all interfaces:

    hostname (config) # no fedp loopback interface ALL enable
  3. Confirm your change:

    hostname (config) # show fedp loopback status
