How to use peer ports

Prev Next

You must use two peer Monitoring ports of the Sensor to deploy it full duplex mode. On the Sensor, the numbered ports are wired in pairs to accommodate the traffic.

The following Ethernet ports are coupled and must be used together.

Note

  • On NS7600 Sensors, the built-in G0 consists of 4 1/10 Gigabit Ethernet ports, which support SFP/SFP+ transceiver modules sold separately by Trellix.

  • G1, G2, and G3 indicate the slots for interface modules. The interface modules supported by NS7600 Sensor are 6-port RJ45 10/1 Gigabit Ethernet interface module and 8-port 10/1 Gigabit fiber interface modules. Note that 8-Port 10/1 Gigabit (SM and MM) with Internal fail-open network interface modules have fixed transceivers, and do not require any additional transceiver module.

  • In the following table, it is assumed that G1 is a 6-port RJ45 10/1 Gigabit Ethernet with internal fail-open network interface module, G2 is a 8-Port 10/1 Gigabit MM with Internal fail-open network interface module, and G3 is a 8-Port 10/1 Gigabit SM with Internal fail-open network interface module. These interface modules can be interchanged.

  • Since monitoring ports are internally wired, when you disable one of the ports in a pair, the corresponding paired port is also disabled.
