Install the Trellix package on Linux

This procedure provides the steps to install the Trellix package on a Linux operating system.

  1. Open a terminal and extract the package. To extract the package, run the command tar zxvf trellix_setup_1.0.112_linux_amd64.tar.gz.

  2. Navigate to the setup directory cd trellix_setup_1.0.112_linux_amd64.

  3. Perform one of the following installations:

    1. Installation without a proxy:

      1. Execute the installation script sudo sh setup.sh with superuser privileges. The default installation path is /opt/trellix/hyperautomation).

      2. Provide your email ID and license code when prompted.

    2. Installation with a proxy:

      1. Export the proxy environment variables.

        export HTTP_PROXY=http://<host>:<port>
        export http_proxy=http://<host>:<port>
        export HTTPS_PROXY=https://<host>:<port>
        export https_proxy=https://<host>:<port>
        export NO_PROXY=localhost,127.0.0.1
        export no_proxy=localhost,127.0.0.1
      2. Execute the installation script sudo sh setup.sh with superuser privileges. The default installation path is /opt/trellix/hyperautomation).

      3. Provide your email ID and license code when prompted.

Installation in Controlled/Closed Environments

To ensure a successful installation in a restricted network environment, you must configure your network firewall or proxy to allow list specific URLs.

Follow these steps to configure the necessary network access:

  1. Allow list the required Docker URLs:

    • download.docker.com:443

    • registry-1.docker.io:443

    • auth.docker.io:443

    • production.cloudflare.docker.com:443

  2. Allow list the required Trellix URLs:

    • hypredge-packages.s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com:443

    • licenseapi.dev.hypredge.com:443

  3. Allow list the required GitHub URLs:

    • ghcr.io:443

    • pkg-containers.githubusercontent.com:443
