Instance groups to configure auto-scaling for Virtual IPS Sensors

To crete instance groups to configure auto-scaling for Virtual IPS Sensors, perform the following steps:

  1. Log in to the Google Cloud and select Compute Engine.

  2. In the left panel, under Instance groups , select Instance groups and click create instance group.

    The Create instance group page is displayed.

  3. Select New managed instance group and enter the following details:

    1. Name: Define the name of your instance group.

      Tip

      The instance name must begin with a letter. It can contain only lowercase letters and hyphens (-) as special characters.

    2. Instance template - Select the required instance template from the drop-down.

  4. Go to Location and select the required Region and Zone from the drop-down.

  5. Navigate to the Autoscaling section and enter the following details:

    1. Autoscaling mode: Define the required mode from the drop-down.

    2. Minimum number of instances: Define the minimum number of instances from the drop-down.

    3. Maximum number of instances: Define the maximum number of instances from the drop-down.

  6. Go to the Autoscaling signals and define the required signal type.

    Tip

    Trellix recommends using Network In Total for network speeds up to 1 Gbps.

  7. Go to the VM instance lifecycle section and configure the following Autohealing parameters:

    1. Healthcheck: Select the required healthcheck from the drop-down.

    2. Initial delay: Enter 900 seconds in the initial delay field.

    3. On failed health check: Select the required action from the drop-down.

  8. Click Create.
