License requirement for NS9600 Sensors

There are different capacity licenses available for NS9600 Sensors and NS9600 Sensors in failover pairs.

If you are using NS9600 standalone Sensors or Sensors in a failover pair, you can obtain and assign a license with higher throughput to increase the throughput of the Sensor. Contact Trellix Sales to procure the license.

If you are using NS9600 as an IPS stack, you can combine multiple licenses of different capacities to achieve the throughput required and assign them to the stack. For example, the throughput requirement of the NS9600 stack (2-node) is 120 Gbps. While assigning licenses, you can import and assign any combination of licenses (20 + 40 + 60 Gbps) or (60 + 60 Gbps) to achieve the throughput requirement of 120 Gbps. If you are using an NS9600 as an IPS stack failover setup, use the capacity licenses for the NS9600 Sensor failover to achieve the required throughput.

If you are using NS9600 as Suricata standalone, you must use a 60 Gbps license to achieve the throughput. If you are using NS9600 as a Suricata stack, you must combine two licenses of 60 Gbps capacity to achieve the throughput required and assign them to the stack. The throughput requirement of the Suricata stack (2-node) is 120 Gbps.

Suricata Sensors support only 60 Gbps SKUs (NS96X60ECE-AT and MSP-NS96-60-OT).

• You cannot configure Suricata Sensors in a failover pair.

• Upgrade capacity licenses are not available for NS9600 Sensors (IPS Sensor and Suricata Sensor).
