After running a search, it can be difficult to determine the timestamp of returned events and where they fall in the selected time range. You might be interested in a small amount of this data and want to quickly isolate the time range in which the events were returned.
A histogram above the search results table is updated as search results are returned. This quickly indicates where in the time range the search results were generated. Gaps in the timeline can be meaningful in your analysis of events.
Move the cursor across the graph or hover over points in the graph to see the time stamp and the number of events that were returned during that time. Use the Visualization toggle to show or hide the histogram.
