Use this task to authenticate with a token to enable recovery tasks. The DETech tool requires either token authentication (password or smartcard as mentioned in the KB79787) from an assigned user or a recovery file (.XML) exported from the ePO - On-prem console.
Make sure that you have the DETech WinPE V3, V4, V5, or V6 recovery boot disk.
Make sure that the system’s main power supply is plugged in. Do not attempt to perform this task on battery power only.
Boot the system with the DETech WinPE boot disc. This loads the Drive Encryption interface.
At the command prompt, enter these commands to open the DETech window:
cd\cd Program Files\Drive EncryptionEETech.exeorEEOpalTech.exeUnder Authentication, click Token.
A logon page prompts you to enter the Drive Encryption credentials for the system.
Enter the username and password for the client system, then click Logon.
When the correct credentials are provided, the Authentication status changes to Authenticated with Token.
