New features and changes

This release provides support for the following enhancements:

Trellix File and Removable Media Protection - SaaS 5.5.0 migration capabilities — Trellix FRP now supports migration of endpoints that use Trellix FRP only for Removable Media offsite encryption with password or certificate authentication. To migrate to ePO - SaaS, deploy the corresponding Trellix FRP 5.5.0 on-premises in your environment.

  • FRP-managed endpoint migration to ePO - SaaS — Trellix FRP supports endpoint migration to ePO - SaaS using the ePO - SaaS Migration wizard.

  • Bulk migration of Removable Media (RM) recovery events from ePO - On-prem to ePO - SaaS — Ensure all RM recovery events from one or more ePO - On-prem servers is available in ePO - SaaS. This enables SaaS helpdesk operators to recover RM devices initialized from managed Trellix FRP endpoints. You can schedule a Server Task to continually migrate recovery events, ensuring only unmigrated recovery events are migrated.

  • Migrate Removable Media (RM) device events to ePO - SaaS — Ensure the last 100 days of RM device events are available in ePO - SaaS for compliance reporting. Only events from systems already migrated to ePO - SaaS are migrated. After migration, access device events using the RM device events query in ePO - SaaS. You can schedule a Server Task to continually migrate device events, ensuring only unmigrated device events are migrated.

For more information about Trellix FRP - SaaS migration, see the Trellix FRP - SaaS Migration Guide.

Hardware Stack Protection (HSP) support — HSP provides enhanced security against control-flow hijacking attacks. HSP is supported on Intel 11th Gen (Tiger Lake) and AMD Zen 3 or newer platforms in combination with 64-bit FRP user-mode executables and kernel-mode drivers.

Support Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) in Trellix FRP - SaaS — Trellix FRP now supports Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) in ePO - SaaS. For public sector customers and other regulated industries that mandate FIPS 140-2, Trellix FRP - SaaS backend services use FIPS cryptographic modules. For more information, see KB83483.

For more information on deploying Trellix FRP - SaaS client package in FIPS mode, see the Trellix FRP - SaaS Installation Guide.
