Deploy the Gateway Load Balancer from Azure UI

To launch the Manager as a virtual machine, perform the following steps:

  1. To launch the Manager from your Azure Subscription, do the following:

    1. Go to Dashboard and type the Load Balancer in the search field.

      The Load Balancer page opens.

    2. Click Create.

    The Create load balancer window along with the Basics tab opens.

  2. On the Basics tab, enter the following details:

    Option

    Project details

    Subscription - The subscription linked with your Azure account is selected by default. If you have multiple subscription accounts, select the subscription account in which you would like to launch the Manager virtual machine.

    Resource group

    • Create new - You can create a new resource group to be protected.

    • Use existing - Select the resource group to be protected.

    Instance details

    Name - Type a name for the Gateway Load Balancer.

    Region - Select the region where the Manager virtual machine must be created.

    SKU - Select Gateway from the available options.

    Type - By default, Internal is selected.

    Tier - By default, Regional is selected.

    Note

    Azure validates the information you enter and a green tick appears against the fields where you enter details.

  3. Click Next: Frontend IP configuration > and select Add frontend IP configuration.

    The Add Frontend IP configuration panel opens. Enter the following details:

    Option

    Name

    Proivde the name of frontend IP

    IP version

    Select the required IPv4 version

    Virtual network

    Select the virtual network to deploy the GWLB

    Subnet

    Select the required subnet value from the drop-down

    Assignment

    Select the default value from the drop-down

    Availability zone

    Select Zone-redundant from the drop-down and click Save

  4. Click Next: Backend pools > and select Add a backend pool.

    The Add backend pool page opens.

    1. Enter the following details:

      Option

      Definition

      Name

      Provide the name of the backend pool

      Virtual network

      Displays the details of the virtual network

      Backend Pool Configuration

      Select NIC from the drop-down

    2. Go to Gateway load balancer configuration and enter the following details:

      Note

      You can only configure the default values configure for the Internal port, Internal identifier, External port, and External identifier.

      Option

      By default, VXLAN is selected

      Type

      Select Internal and External from the drop-down

      Internal port

      Use the default value i.e., 10800

      Internal identifier

      Use the default value i.e., 800

      External port

      Use the default value i.e., 10801

      External identifier

      Use the default value i.e., 801

    3. Go to IP configurations and select Add to include the IP configurations associated with the virtual machines.

      The Add IP configurations to backend pool panel opens. From the Virtual machine drop-down, select the required instance(s) to attach to the GWLB.

  5. You can skip configuring the Inbound rules and Outbound rules to permit all traffic to the GWLB.

  6. Click Next: Tags >.

    The Tags tab opens. On this tab, you can categorize resources by applying a tag name and value to multiple resources and resource groups.

  7. Click Next: Review + create >.

    The Review + create tab opens. Validate the summary details which contain all the parameters selected. Make sure the validation is successful.

  8. Click Create.

    The Gateway Load Balancer is deployed.

    Note

    The installation procedure takes a few minutes for configurational settings to complete.

  9. Once the deployment is complete, access the Gateway Load Balancer and select Go to resource.

  10. Navigate to Settings and select Health probes. Now, enter the following details:

    Name

    Provide the name of the health probe

    Protocol

    Select TCP from the drop-down

    Port

    Enter the value as 9001

    Interval (seconds)

    Use the default value

    Used by

    Use the default value

After providing the health probe details, click Save.
