Deployment of an NS-series Sensor

Prev Next

Trellix Intrusion Prevention System offers unique flexibility in Sensor deployment. Sensors can be deployed in a variety of topologies and network security applications, providing industry-leading flexibility and scalability.

Deployment of a Sensor requires knowledge of your network to help determine the level of configuration and the number of installed Sensors. The Sensor is purpose-built for the monitoring of traffic across one or more network segments.

Above is an example of a network topology using Gigabit Ethernet throughput of Sensor. In the illustration, Trellix Intrusion Prevention System provides protection to both clients and servers with the Sensor deployed in-line. In the given scenario, the Sensor is placed directly in the path of the network segment becoming, essentially, a "bump in the wire," with packets flowing through the Sensor. High port density and virtualization provide a highly scalable solution. See Trellix Intrusion Prevention System Product Guide for details on different Sensor deployment modes and scenarios.

Trellix Intrusion Prevention System also provides seamless integration with a variety of Trellix products, some of which includes Trellix IVX Server and Cloud, Trellix Global Threat Intelligence (GTI), Trellix Network Investigator (NI), Trellix Logon Collector (TLC), and Trellix ePO - On-prem. These integrations significantly strengthen your security posture and enhance the threat detection and handling capabilities in specific network environments. Refer to Trellix Intrusion Prevention System Integration Guide for details on the integration process with other products.
