High-level steps for configuring Trellix vIPS in Azure environment

Prev Next

The subscription for your organization is required before you deploy the vIPS cloud solution. We assume that you have defined the virtual networks and subnets as per your requirements. Furthermore, create a network security group with the required security policies and ports for the solution deployment. The Virtual IPS Sensor can be installed in the same virtual network as your virtual machines or in a separate virtual network. Before installing the Manager, ensure that you have created a registered application with the required roles.

This section provides the high-level steps for deploying Trellix vIPS in an Azure environment.

  1. Create a registered application to generate the key or an IAM role in Azure for your subscription and active directory required for the Controller.
  2. Launch the Trellix IPS Manager instance with the appropriate role.
  3. Create Protected Groups for instances.
  4. Configure Local Controller or create an External Controller based on your requirement for the Protected Group.
  5. Configure a Cluster for a Protected Group.
  6. Configure Cloud Access in Controller for Azure Cloud Discovery.
  7. (Optional) Launch an External Controller if you have configured the External Controller.
  8. Launch the Virtual IPS Sensor instance.
  9. Once the Sensor instance is active, download and Install Virtual Probe.
  10. Validate your deployment.
  11. Repeat steps 2-7 in any order to complete the desired deployment.
