Manager Appliance LEDs

The front panel LEDs provide status information for the health of the Manager Appliance and the activity on its ports. The following table describes the Manager Appliance LEDs.

Front panel LED indicators

Label/Icon

Color

Description

Power status (a green power icon)

Solid Green

System is ON (power supply is stable and the system is running).

Off

System is OFF (or in standby mode).

UID (Unit Identifier) (locator icon)

Solid Blue

The Local UID (Unit Identifier) is activated to help locate the server in a rack.

Blinking Blue

The Remote UID is activated (via IPMI).

System Fault/Failure (often an "i" icon or an exclamation point)

Solid Red

Indicates a Critical System Error.

Blinking Red

Indicates a Non-Critical System Error (e.g., Fan failure, Power Supply failure).

HDD/SSD Activity (a hard drive or cylinder icon)

Blinking Green

Indicates drive read/write activity.

LAN Activity (often labeled NIC1, NIC2, and others)

Green or Amber

Indicates network link status and activity on the corresponding LAN port.



Function of LED indicators

Power Button (a power symbol)

Press and hold to turn the server ON or OFF.

UID Button (an "i" or locator icon)

Press once to toggle the blue Unit Identifier LED on or off.

This helps personnel identify the correct server when working in the data center.

USB Ports (usually 2 ports)

Standard USB ports for connecting a keyboard, mouse, or USB drive.



Chassis power supply LED indicators

Indicator Name

Description

Status/AC/DC OK

Solid Green

Normal operation.

The power supply is properly connected to the AC power source. It functions correctly and delivers DC power to the system.

Status/Failure

Solid Amber or Solid Red

Fault or Failure.

The power supply has failed, is not providing DC power, or has a critical fault, such as over-temperature or a fan failure. The module typically needs to be replaced.

Status/AC/DC OK

Off

No power.

The cause of no power is one of the following: the AC power cord is not connected, the power switch is off, or the power supply is completely dead.

Status/AC/DC OK

Blinking Green

Hot-swap ready/Pending.

The power supply is in a standby state, waiting to be fully initialized. It might also be ready for removal or insertion (though this state is less common on all models).
