The base throughput on NS3500 and NS3x00 Sensors are upgraded to 750 Mbps with this release. The Sensors operate at a higher capacity providing higher detection capabilities.

Points for consideration:

Note

It is recommended that you do a fresh install or upgrade the Manager before you upgrade the Sensor.

  • If you do a fresh install of the Manager (10.1.7.29) and import a new license, or upgrade the Manager (10.1.7.29) with an existing license and upgrade the Sensor (10.1.5.64), the capacity license will be displayed as 750 Mbps in both the Manager and the Sensor.
  • If you do a fresh install of the Manager (10.1.7.29) and import a new license, or upgrade the Manager (10.1.7.29) with an existing license and do not upgrade the Sensor (prior 10.1.5.64), the capacity license will be displayed as 750 Mbps in the Manager and 200 Mbps in the Sensor.
  • The existing SKU can be used with this release of 10.1 as well.

For more information on capacity license, see McAfee Network Security Platform 10.1.x Product Guide.
