Configuring a custom wait time for blocked-by-proxy detection using the CLI

Prev Next

Follow these steps to configure a custom maximum time to wait for confirmation that a blocked-by-proxy event represents the blocking action of the Web proxy or the blocking action of the Network Security appliance.

Note

Disabling a custom maximum wait time does not change the other settings that are specific to emailed blocked-by-proxy notifications:

  • max‑time‑wait—Maximum wait time for blocked-by-proxy confirmation.

  • subject‑desc blocked—Subject line for emailed notifications of blocking actions performed by the Web proxy.

  • subject‑desc not‑blocked—Subject line for emailed notifications of blocking actions performed by the Network Security appliance.

A custom maximum wait time is disabled by default, and you enable and configure it from the CLI only. For more information, see Maximum time to wait for confirmation of a blocked-by-proxy event.

Prerequisites

  • Admin access to the Network Security appliance CLI.

To disable a custom maximum wait time for blocked-by-proxy detection:
  1. Go to CLI configuration mode.

    hostname > enable
    hostname # configure terminal
  2. Enable customized wait time for confirmation of blocked-by-proxy type.

hostname (config) # fenotify preferences bbp enable

To disable this option, use the “no” form of the command.

  3. Verify your changes.

hostname (config) # show fenotify preferences bbp
  4. Save your changes.

    hostname (config) # write memory
