Configuring custom subject lines for emailed notifications using the CLI

Follow these steps to configure custom subject lines for emailed notification of blocking. Custom email subject lines are disabled by default, and you enable, configure, and disable them from the CLI only. For more information, see Emailed notifications for blocked traffic events.

Note

Emailed notification of blocking actions is available only when blocked-by-proxy detection is enabled.

Prerequisites

  • Admin access to the Network Security appliance CLI.

To configure custom subject lines for emailed notifications of blocking actions:
  1. Go to CLI configuration mode.

    hostname > enable
    hostname # configure terminal
  2. (Optional) Enable the custom subject line for actions blocked by the Web proxy. The subject line for this type of notification reverts to the default value.

    hostname (config) # fenotify preferences bbp subject-desc blocked

    To disable this option, use the “no” form of the command.

  3. (Optional) Enable the custom subject line for actions blocked by the Network Security appliance. The subject line for this type of notification reverts to the default value.

    hostname (config) # fenotify preferences bbp subject-desc not‑blocked

    To disable this option, use the “no” form of the command.

  4. Verify your changes.

    hostname (config) # show fenotify preferences bbp
  5. Save your changes.

    hostname (config) # write memory
