Enabling or disabling the SSL Interception whitelist for uncategorized third-party URLs

Prev Next

You can enable or disable the Network Security appliance to whitelist uncategorized third-party URLs for SSL interception using the Web UI or CLI:

An uncategorized third-party URL is classified as a URL that does not match any predefined domain whitelist category in the third-party URL categorization database or in the custom domain whitelist category. A vast number of uncategorized URLs are processed by the SSL Intercept module, including internal websites that are considered to be nonmalicious. When you enable the Network Security appliance to whitelist uncategorized third-party URLs, the appliance will exclude the uncategorized URLs from decryption. By default, the appliance will not exclude the uncategorized third-party URLs from decryption, and the URLs are not whitelisted.

Note

Use the show url-category stats command to verify that the SSL interception URL category whitelist feature is enabled on the appliance. For details about how to enable this feature, see Enabling or disabling the SSL interception whitelist for URL categorization using the CLI.
