This section provides step-by-step instructions on how to get started with NS9600 Sensor. This includes a check-list of the topics that you should review before setting up the Sensor, its physical installation steps, cabling requirements, how to install interface and transceiver modules, steps to set it up with Trellix IPS Manager, and license requirements. Trellix recommends that you go through the entire hardware guide for a better understanding of how to configure and manage the Sensor.
Before you start setting up the NS9600 Sensor, do the following:
Learn about the components of NS9600 Sensor and LED specifications
Review the safety considerations
Review the product compliance information
Check the Sensor technical specifications
Review the considerations and scenarios for NS9600 Sensor stack, if you want to configure and use stacked Sensors
Perform the physical installation of the Sensor:
Attach required cables to the Sensor:
Learn how to Cable the Sensors in a stack, if you want to configure NS9600 stacked Sensors
Install an Interface module:
Learn about the network interface modules supported in NS9600 Sensor
Caution
Apart from the interface modules discussed in the topic above (that is, 4-port 100/40 Gigabit SR MTP/MPO interface module, 6-port RJ45 10/1 Gigabit Ethernet interface module with built-in fail open and 8-port 10/1 Gigabit fiber (SM and MM) interface module with built-in fail open), no other interface modules are compatible with NS9600 Sensor.
Install an interface module during a fresh installation of the Sensor or on an up and running Sensor
Install a transceiver module:

Install a transceiver module in the Sensor
Note
Transceiver modules are supported in built-in G0 slot only.
Install the Trellix IPS Manager Software and then set up the Sensor with the Manager:
Add the Sensor (as a standalone or stack) to the Manager
